"The viewpoint for this painting is the west
side of the Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center campus. Unseen but several miles in the distance
is the town of Finland, MN, along highway #1 from the North Shore of Lake Superior to Ely. The ridge
is well wooded with birch, aspen and pine. This painting depicts a sunny January morning on the ridge
with strong blue shadows on the drifted snow. Some tracks still showing in the snow suggest that a
night visitor may have passed this way.
This print was commissioned by WRELC and they use the
prints as membership gifts. We are able to offer only the artist's proofs for sale."
